Privacy policy
418 News is a parody news station run by software. It collects very little, and this page says exactly what. Last updated 31 October 2026.
This website
418news.com has no accounts, no sign-up and no forms that take your details. It sets no cookies of its own.
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which records pages viewed, the referring site, and your browser, device type and country, without cookies and without identifying you. We use it only to see which pages people read.
The live stream player loads from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) only when you press play. From then on, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to what it collects.
The station and Google user data
The 418 News station uploads its own YouTube Shorts to its own channel. To do that, it signs in to Google with the YouTube Data API scopes youtube.upload and youtube, on the 418 News channel only. It uses them to upload the station's videos, add them to the channel's playlists, read back their processing and privacy status, and make them public once they've been reviewed.
It doesn't read, collect or store anyone else's data, it doesn't share Google user data with anyone, and it doesn't use it for advertising or to train AI models. The sign-in token is kept only on the station's own computer, and access can be withdrawn at any time from the Google Account's third-party access settings.
418 News's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, and to the YouTube API Services Terms of Service. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
On YouTube
Watching, commenting on or subscribing to 418 News happens on YouTube, under YouTube's terms and privacy policy. We see only what YouTube shows every channel owner: aggregate view counts and public comments.
